The formal process of the Synod on Synodality will conclude this fall. Kristin will look back on the style and the accomplishments of the 2023 session. Then she will look forward to what might happen at the final meeting in October and beyond. What will the delegates be talking about in Rome? What decisions might be made? What does the future of synodality hold for the Church?
Kristin Colberg is an associate professor at the College of St. Benedict and St. John’s University. Her interests include ecclesiology, ecumenism and the two Vatican Councils. She serves on the theological commission for the Synod on Synodality. She lives in Minnesota with her husband Shawn and her two teenaged daughters, Mary and Catherine.
Her spirited APP presentation last fall provides excellent background on the goals and purpose of the Synod. Viewing the talk (on our website) will enrich your appreciation of this year’s insights.
